Unusual discovery on Rural Warsaw – Interia

Archaeologists have found on the street in Rural pre-war Warsaw items that were hidden in basements of buildings destroyed during World War II. They include porcelain tableware, silver and crystal. They come from the times of the interwar period.

total about a hundred different dishes. Michael Krasucki, deputy conservator of the capital, says that they are primarily historical value. He explains that rarely meets the subjects in such good condition, found in a place that was virtually razed to the ground.

The pledges come from, among others, the manufactories Rosenthal, Thomas Bavaria, Bavaria Shumann, Pirkenhammer Czechoslovakia.

Andrew Jaskuła archaeologist supervising the study, admits that he was very impressed with the discovery. “Someone in the war endured all of the services to the basement, translated them newspapers. Later buried secure rubble survived,” – he says. Andrzej Jaskuła adds that it is hard to determine when the “find” went to the basement.

This is the first step in the on Rural archaeological work. Both archaeologists and the city authorities are counting on another interesting discovery in this place.

Research on Rural are conducted at the request of the Chancellery of the Sejm. They are related to the construction of new premises for the parliamentary committee.
