The living tissue of a 3D printer – Dziennik.pl

Researchers at the medical center Wake Forest printed part of the bone, muscle and cartilage. They used this mixture of living cells, a special gel and plastic skeleton. As a result, the cells have access to water, nutrients and oxygen. Such structures implanted into animals to function normally. Over time, the plastic has dissolved; They appeared for the nerves and blood vessels.

The inventors say they are ready for testing in humans, other scientists are cautious and call for additional research. Potentially, however, this method is a promising way to rebuild damaged human body.
