According to reports in the Danish media, a resident of Denmark, who recently returned home from a trip abroad, she was infected with Zika. The virus is transmitted by mosquitoes and causes life-threatening disease. It is particularly dangerous for pregnant women. The presence of Zika was found recently in approx. 20 countries, mainly in Central and South America. Do you threaten Poland?

The infected person is a twenty-something man who returned from a trip to Mexico and Brazil. After returning he complained of high fever, headache and muscle. With these symptoms was taken to hospital. – It is in good condition, is recovering and will soon come out of the hospital – the doctor says prof. Lars Ostergaard. The doctor adds that there is no risk of spreading the virus in Denmark.

Virus Zika should not in fact constitute a danger in northern European countries because they are not warm enough to reproduce in them transmitting the virus mosquitoes of the species Aedes aegypti.

The World Health Organization (WHO) warned on Monday that the virus Zika probably spread to all American countries except Canada and Chile. The WHO recommends that women who wish to succeed in areas where the virus is spread, consult with your doctor before traveling and after returning to the country.
