Ideas of University. Robot – the bartender fills a glass [VIDEO] – Gazeta Wyborcza

“Even dispensing homogeneous liquid substance into the blood unconnected” – as the project is called officially. To benefit recognized less formally and thus more understandable: it is about a robot pouring vodka into glasses. The idea of five students of the Academy of Mining and Metallurgy, though it may seem frivolous, won one of the most important awards in the last marathon programming AGHacks.

– There is no secret, the idea was born during one of the events – admits Jacek Pelicano third-year automation and robotics. – We said, which create a framework which takes place during AGHacks ASTOR Challenge and at one point fell: “Maybe robot watering vodka?”. The idea seemed to us to be great, but you know, during the event various proposals may seem exciting. Despite the circumstances, the next day we found, however, that the project is really cool.

During AGHacks Jacek, Michael Klis, Michael Sigmund, Michael Jasinski and Konrad Adamczyk joined the action. They locked up for 48 hours created a perfectly functioning device. – The shared Kawasaki robot podpięliśmy we configured our vision system with a camera. He locate the position of the glasses, and then transmit the image information from the robot. We programmed it so that the liquid poured into glasses at precisely the same amount – explains Jacek. – Thus dopięliśmy her.

The team capable guys in prize went to a PLC GE Versamax nano to implement their own projects, vouchers for free training in robotics, model minirobota and, most importantly, the annual prelude to the laboratory ASTOR on completion of the project.

– First of all we would like to expand the project by adding a speech recognition system. Though now to launch the robot just one button, certainly more fun would yell to him, for example. “Darek, pour!” – Jacek laughs. – In addition, we would like to optimize it in terms of speed, as well as add features pouring eg. Beer beer mug or wine to the lights.

What if the robot to rebel?

Although the robot seems to serve mostly fun, he says Jacek idea after all has potential. – He may yet serve not only to pour the alcohol, but be useful wherever it is necessary to frequent metering and dispensing a variety of dishes certain amount of liquid. Even in nursing homes, where a nurse several times a day need to measure specific doses of liquid medicines – says Jacek.

Wishing project and its talented creators success quote can be one of the comments that appeared in videos showing the robot: “Now rebellion machines would be even scarier. – topping! – No”.
