Three million people worldwide die each year because of pollution – Dziennik.pl

Sources of pollution abound. It is mainly transport or energy production. But in India, China or Bangladesh people smoke too small, backyard bonfires, where the smoke is very harmful.

– In Europe, the eastern United States and Russia, Turkey and Japan the main source of pollution is agriculture. And exactly ammonia, which together with other toxins has fatal impact on health – says the weekly “Nature” study co-author Jos Lelieveld. Emphasizes that three million deaths a year is a lot more than the number of deaths caused by HIV / AIDS malaria.

If nothing changes, the researchers write, this mid-century due air pollution will be dying twice, six million people every year.
