950 Pro – a new SSD from Samsung (video) – wirtualnemedia.pl

The Samsung 950 Pro SSD is the first Korean company for private users equipped with a controller Non-Volatile Memory Express (NVMe). M.2 disc format is based on NAND architecture vertical (V-NAND) interface and supports the Peripheral Component Interconnect Express (PCIe) 3.0.

The compact format of M.2 2280 ensures compatibility with desktop and mobile platforms equipped with jacks and M.2 PCIe interfaces.

Samsung 950 Pro PCIe Gen.3 x4 interface and protocol support NVMe offers higher performance random and sequential read and write data in comparison with drives based on the Serial Advanced Technology Attachment (SATA) utilizing an older protocol Advanced Host Controller Interface (AHCI). App, which counts a high number of input and output operations per second (IOPS), have seen even fourfold performance improvement compared to traditional SSD drives.

For security of data corresponds to the full AES encryption with 256-bit key, and the protection function Dynamic Thermal heat Guard protects the machine and at temperatures of 0 to 70 degrees Celsius. The disc is also resistant to physical shock to 1,500 G / 0.5 msec and vibrations up to 20 G.

The disc will be available in capacities of 512 and 256 gigabytes (GB). 512 GB version has a top speed sequential read and write data respectively to 2500 MB / s to 1500 MB / sec. During the random disk read operations running at up to 300 000 IOPS and write operations are carried out at a speed of 110 000 IOPS. The drive uses second-generation 32-tiered bones of the Samsung MLC V-NAND 128 Gb controller UBX and software Magician.

SSD Samsung 950 Pro will be available from early October 2015. Units are covered by a 5-year warranty Limited to 200 terabytes of stored total (TBW) for the version with a capacity of 256 GB and 400 TBW version of 512 GB.
