Wroclaw: scientists have developed a groundbreaking method of treating wounds in animals – Polish Radio

biotechnologist, founder of Vet Stem Cell Blazej Dolniak announced that work on the preparation of the hydrogel lasted a year, and preceded them research on growth hormone used in this product is the result of several years of work.

 

– Frequently I meet with the question of why the hydrogel can be used only for the treatment of wounds in animals. The answer is that using it to cure in humans requires further research, it is not excluded in the future – he said.

Dolniak explained that the hydrogel adheres to the wound, forming a protective barrier, and the growth factor is released in a controlled manner and extended. – Growth factor accelerates recovery losses by acting on receptors in the skin cells – indicated.


 

The hydrogel animal was patented and hit already on the veterinary market, include available at veterinary clinics. It is used m.in .: the treatment of hard to heal wounds, open wounds with skin defects, with epidermal and dermal abrasions, burns and bedsores, surgical wounds and cavities coat.

The product is hypoallergenic, devoid of taste and smell.

Head Vet Stem Cell added that the company is working on new formulations that will be able to be used in regenerative medicine animals. This should include for the treatment of degenerative joint diseases.
