In the capital of the Netherlands is approx. 1 300 bridges and footbridges, the oldest of which dates from 1648. The newest bridge will be unique, which is emphasized by its creators – Heijmans company, MX3D and Joris Laarman Labs.

The construction of the bridge corresponds to a newly formed company MX3D that developed robots steel structures forming in the air. Two machines will on both sides of the channel and begin construction so as to finally meet you halfway. Created using 3D printing bridge will be durable and resistant to external influences.

– We conclude that the modern bridge connecting the old channels will be a perfect metaphor for the symbiosis of technology with the historical past of the city and thus show the best of both worlds. The bridge also proves that 3D printing technology is ripe for creating large functional objects from durable materials, leaving the man the freedom to design – said Joris Laarman, chief designer of the bridge.

The bridge will be ready as early as September, although its exact location it is not yet known.
