Google I / O 2015: Android M presented – Softonet

The first novelty presented at the conference Google I / O 2015 was the latest version of Google Mobile – Android M. newest OS wyszukiwarkowego giant is hardly revolutionary, but it will offer users some interesting solutions.

Application Privileges

The first mentioned during a short presentation and announcement of Android M novelty was described by us in early May mechanism that gives users much greater control over permissions broadcasts applications. The new solution will allow not only to block their access to specific data or functions of the phone, but will also enable easier management of permissions. App Permissions action is also to be far less invasive. When newly installed application will attempt to get access to the function smartphone or tablet, or the data stored on it, you will get a message asking if the user agrees to grant the application of such powers. Once granted privileges at any time, you can change the Settings that will allow applications to browse alphabetically or sorted by access to specific permissions. Unfortunately, the mechanism of the App Permissions will be available only on Android M and applications compatible with it.

Custom Chrome Tabs

Another novelty, which aims to facilitate users to use installed on smartphones and tablets running under M Android applications, and developers valuable time during their creation is a Chrome Custom Tabs. This mechanism is designed to display directly in the programs content available on the website. At the moment, developers need to create their own mini web browsers running within programs, or to disrupt the users life by switching them to default in the application system to browse the Web. With the launch of Android M neither of these two solutions you are no longer needed thanks to Chrome Custom Tabs – special mobile Chrome browser bookmarks. Available in applications, web links will be able to be viewed directly via the Chrome Custom Tabs, and with smooth transitions between them and the program time to view the content will be shortened, and the impression on the user side will be much more enjoyable. An additional advantage of this solution is security – Custom Chrome Tabs tab will offer all the safeguards available in the mobile version of Chrome.

App Link

This is the next solution to simplify links open within an application designed for other programs. The Android Lollipop and earlier click in the body of email links to the social networking site Twitter automatically opened web browser, and in the best case dialog box that allows the user to select a program to perform action. The situation would change in the Android M, thanks to the opportunities of joining by software developers for their application-specific references, allowing the operating system to get an idea on what type of program to perform a particular action without disturbing the user.

Support for fingerprint readers

About the new Android also functions we have already written, but it has now been officially confirmed . The latest version of the system will natively support fingerprint scanners, which will facilitate the addition of such security mechanisms to new mobile devices. This is on one hand a nod to hardware manufacturers, on the other aspect required further news on Android M which is …

Android Pay

The ability to make payments using mobile devices is a hit the last months of the creators of operating systems. The introduction of such a mechanism in Android have written a long time, but confirmed information was like a cure. At today’s conference, Android Pay discussed in more detail. Used for mobile payments will feature NFC (Near Field Communication), and the transactions themselves to be extremely safe. It is to be merit interesting mechanism create virtual payment cards within the operating system. Thanks to accurate information and data from physical plastics will not be disclosed to persons receiving payment. The same payment also has to be extremely simple and would require only entering the smartphone to the NFC reader and verify the user’s identity using the fingerprint reader. This is all. You will not need to run additional applications or typing additional security codes and verify the transaction. Pay Android will also allow quick and easy payments on mobile applications and websites. Unfortunately, this form of electronic payments in the near future will only be available in the United States and in selected partners cooperating with Google.

Doze

The last mentioned today news related directly to the Android M is a function Doze, whose task will be to conserve battery life. About this mechanism, we reported this morning based on leaks that have come to the Internet. Now we know a little more detailed information about how Android M is to make our mobile devices will run longer on a single charge. Help is in the Doze – monitoring mechanism sensors available on smartphones and tablets and on the basis of this information, evaluating whether the device has been delayed and is not used if it is in use. In the case of the first scenario Sleep Doze device to save power. According to the first Nexus tablet carried out on 9 test allows for extended run twice on a single charge.

Android M is also much smaller news. Support USB connector type C will allow for faster loading of equipment or use of a smartphone or tablet as a portable battery to a trickle charging else. Improved text selection mechanism will be chose by default the entire words rather than individual letters (to be able to switch to such mode) and display the menu, users can quickly perform actions kopij type or cut. Improvements also lived to see the panel volume control that Android M will allow for better customization of the sound intensity the device features (multimedia, alarms, bells).

Android M Developer Preview, or pictorial, intended for software developers version of the latest mobile Google’s operating system can be downloaded and installed on smartphones Nexus 5 and 6, 9 and tablet Nexus device Nexus player today.
