Polish finalists met Imagine Cup 2015 – Interia

This year, the largest representation in the finals will be Warsaw universities, where students were in up to four teams. Also reached the finals of the teams from Krakow, Lodz, Poznan and Bialystok. Resolution of the 13th edition of National Imagine Cup competition will be held on 8th and 9th April.

The axis of this year’s Imagine Cup is the Kinect technology, successfully used by Polish students in projects competition. As in previous years, the contest is co-organized by the Institute of Industrial Design, and the honorary patronage over the event was taken by the Ministry of Economy. Partners of the event are companies Industrial Development Agency, Artifex Mundi, Billennium and ICL, a Technology Partner was Comarch.

Imagine Cup 2015 was applied to the unique value of the business aspect of student projects. All the team at the beginning of the adventure of the competition took part in training in the field of development of the project commercialization strategy. Finalists will also be given the chance to support its solutions business by the investment fund Zernike Meta Ventures.

Imagine Cup is the world’s largest technology competition for students who are not afraid to translate their creativity into real technology. In previous editions attended by nearly 2 million students from 190 countries. This team was joined by 15 Polish teams that already April 8 will present their ideas to the committee of judges. The winners of the first places in each category will represent Poland in the semifinals of the world. Selected in these teams will compete for the top places in the world finals in Seattle.

WORLD CITIZENSHIP category in the final top five teams:

1. Auxilium – the team from Warsaw University of Technology will present SmartCare solution, which is an application for Windows Phone, built based on Microsoft Azure, and connected to an electronic wrist band. The application is designed to manage the entire process of medication – recalls the necessity of taking medicines, announces that medicine ends and prepares statistics. The role of electronic wristbands guarantee is that the patient takes your medicine even if you forget to bring your phone.

2. Cervi – the project team Rzeszów University of Technology is a system of transmission and data analysis using Microsoft Azure technology, aided unmanned flying machine. The solution is the answer to the security problems of difficult to protect traditional methods. Drones moving autonomously, performing ongoing analysis of the monitored image in the cloud, is intended for institutions such as border guards and rescue services.

3 Science Sergeants – a team of the Military Technical Academy in Warsaw reported to the competition iSULIN project, which aims to help diabetics effectively monitor health. iSULIN is a compact, portable biosensor, working with a mobile application. Measurements taken at the wrist of the patient is collected by the application and stored and processed in the cloud in real time so that the most recent data with diabetes have about their health condition. The application also recommends proper diet and allows contact with the medical staff.

4. Spinal Crew – Animus project team of Polish-Japanese Institute of Information Technology in Warszawieto solution for people with disabilities, with mobility problems or completely immobilized. 5. Toast and Brains – Bialystok University of Technology students prepared a project Photon

INNOVATION category in the final top five teams:

1 . Fighters Against Laziness – the team from Bialystok University of Technology has developed a draft
e-motion, or an application on a smartphone, to assist in the fight against the lack of motivation and consistency in action. Thanks to a special algorithm application learns user habits and adjusts the action plan so that the most efficient way to encourage him to carry it out.

2. EduDevs – a team of students Technical University of Lodz has prepared a multi-platform application used to learn foreign languages. It uses a relationship between the amount of information stored in the memory and the passage of time, which took place from the moment they remember (Ebbinghaus forgetting curve). The user can create personalized maps of words and phrases, and the application completes an individual repetition intervals of knowledge so that language learning as effective as possible. An additional advantage is mobility – thanks to the app on your phone, we can learn a language anywhere.

3 Smartmirrors – a project designed for motorcyclists was created with students of the School Complex Communication im.H. Cegielski Poznan, School of Humanities and Journalism in Poznan University of Management in Warsaw and Poznan University of Technology. 4. U ntwisted Team – Untwisted project is an application on a smartphone

5. Stattist – Students of the Jagiellonian University Stattist.com decided to design a solution to enable selecting tailored to the recipient publication and analysis of data from the vast amounts of information on the Internet.

GAMES category in the final top five teams:

1. Guards – students of the Military Technical Academy in Warsaw submitted its proposal to the competition FARM Fancy Augmented Reality Machines. This is an educational game for phones and tablets with a camera that allows you to learn the secrets of engineering. The aim of the game is to build and delve into operation different mechanisms. 2. J Team – Soul of Magic is a collaborative project and Wroclaw University of Technology School of Social Sciences in Wroclaw. 3 Lumi-Systems – Students from Gdansk presented their platform for card games – Card Games Platform. The whole tournament takes place on the tablet with Windows 8.1.

4. Serious Angielski Name – the team from the University of Lodz reported to the competition Bandbarian game. It tracks the fate of a warrior during his mission to become stronger. To achieve this goal, the player must practice with the character. The game keeps track of the results of the special Fitbit wristband and translates them for progress warrior in the game. 5. Vivid Dream – Dude Wars is a student project at the Jagiellonian University. It is a game RTS (Real Time Strategy – Real Time Strategy) designed for multiple players fighting each other on the network.
