Scientists have discovered a new planet in the solar system – Newsweek Poland

According to scientists, the solar system does not end with Neptune. Probably there are still at least two planets the size of Earth-like.

In 2006, the researchers’ okroili “Solar System from 9 to 8 planets (in this prestigious group removed Pluto ). But recent research astronomers tend to expand the list and it’s at least two of the planet.

The discovery occurred when Carlos de la Fuente Marcos, a professor at the University of Madrid was watching Extreme transneptunowce ( ETNO – trans-Neptunian extreme object), or asteroids or minor planets such as Pluto, located outside the orbit of Neptune .

Through their research came to the conclusion that the most distant planet from the Sun and Neptune is not another, previously unknown object.

From these assumptions? The researcher noted the orbits of asteroids. They were different than previously thought. And this in turn means that they had to act on a huge force of gravitational attraction so far unaccounted for in the calculations.

– do not know the exact number of these objects – explained Marcos Spanish scientific press. – Given the incomplete data that we have, according to our calculations within the solar system, there are at least two additional planets – he added. As he said, if the thesis is confirmed you will be able to talk about a revolution in astronomy.

Even on Friday, an international team of astronomers led by Prof.. Andrzej Niedzielski of Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun discovered two planets around the star called a red giant, located in the constellation of Leo away from Earth for tens of light years. It seems that we discover planets so far, and we have problems with our immediate surroundings.
