Not so long ago the media news said that Google, through YouTube, I want a billion dollars to buy service Twitch. Now the Wall Street Journal reports that Twitch and yes, it was purchased, but not by the Mountain View, and through Amazon.
This information, confirmed by the management of the service, it is quite surprising, mainly because the popular website would fit perfectly the stream just to the Google ecosystem. Additionally, the service, which from month to month is becoming more popular (currently uses the 55 million visitors a month), must constantly develop its infrastructure, and if anyone, but Google seem to be an excellent partner in this matter.
But this did not happen, and Twitch hit the wing Amazon, which also has a powerful infrastructure and more boldly looks at markets that previously seemed to be entirely dominated by the competition. It is therefore possible that Amazon plans Twitch becomes something more than just a service that allows for streaming recordings of games. Such a move would be quite logical – led by Jeff Bezos company now has its own television device called Fire TV, Amazon Game Studios promises to create their own games, and Twitch is a brand well known to many players. It is therefore possible that the service purchased for one billion U.S. dollars to become a vehicle through which Amazon will be promoting their other products.
