As reported “Business Pulse” from a few months on the internet you could buy Orange subscribers personal data – name, social security, tax ID numbers and a series of identity and the addresses and phone numbers. They were sold at a price of 1 z? per person.

persons responsible for the theft and trade data fell when one of the potential buyers, contacted the police. He had to purchase 135,000 entries during a transaction in one of the shopping centers in ?ód?. Officers arrested the thief during the exchange, and a day later in Warsaw arrested another two people. One of them worked at the headquarters of Orange Poland, although apparently she was employed by an external company. For data theft criminals threatens to two years in prison.

Unfortunately, we do not know whether the problem relates to mobile subscribers, fixed and broadband options (former clients of Polish Telecom) or both. A spokesman for Orange Poland refused to “Puls Business” comment, telling the good of the investigation.

UPDATE: Wojciech Jabczy?ski Meanwhile, a spokesman for Orange Poland, published on the company’s blog new statement. Informs him that the network knew about the theft of data from a few months and during that time has worked closely with the police. What’s more, also argues that, ultimately, confidential information does not hit the market and have not been purchased by a third party. You can only hope that this is the case.
