upcoming CES 2014 (Consumer Electronics Show) in Las Vegas, LG Electronics will showcase 105-inch Ultra HD with curved screen in 21:9 format (model 105UB9).

105UB9 model is equipped with LCD screen cinema CinemaScope aspect ratio of 21:9 and a resolution of 11 megapixels (5120 x 2160).

TV screen is a collaboration between the companies LG Electronics and LG Display. In order to obtain the appropriate curvature of the screen, a new technology that allows for the solution of technical problems such as the maintenance of structural integrity, and to ensure uniform color and brightness over the entire display surface.

So far, curved-screen TVs with OLED panels were preferred because they themselves are light sources. In contrast, LG Display applied the improved technology TFT panels.

CES 2013 will be held from 7-10 January 2014.
