Cape Canaveral launched the mission MAVEN (Mars Atmosphere and Volatile Evolution). This is the first vehicle, whose task is to collect detailed data on the upper atmosphere of Mars . The researchers hope that the information provided by him will allow the climate history of Mars. Scientists want to know how it happened that Mars is now cold, desert planet.

journey to the Red Planet will last 10 months. The vehicle in orbit around the planet will be in September and will begin its research program. Getting to Mars is not easy. You have to be there and go to the proper orbit. You have to have the fuel and make contact with the earth and other vehicles. Lots of things to be done properly – says Professor John Clarke of Boston University, one of the members of the research team Maven.

One of the theories about Mars is that the planet lost its magnetic field, which protects the surface from the solar wind. The loss of the magnetic field has led to the loss of water. If Mars once had a thick atmosphere and water on the surface, and then lost it as a result of evolution. Water can freeze or evaporate on the surface. We would like to know in what direction the Earth. What is the role of climate change? What will change in the short and long term? – says Clarke.
