Fukushima nuclear power plant workers were evacuated from the areas located close to the coast. The decision has to do with a small tsunami, which was caused by an earthquake near the Japanese islands.
Company Tokyo Electric Power Company ensures that the shocks did not cause irregularities in the operation of the plant. In any case, however, it was decided to evacuate workers due warning of an impending tsunami. A wave caused by an earthquake was not great – was 30 inches in height.
Earthquakes are common in Japan, which is one of the most seismically active areas of the globe. In Japan, there has been a 20 per cent of all shocks measuring more than 6 degrees.
In March 2011 there was an earthquake of 9 degrees and the strength of a massive tsunami. This resulted in the largest since the Chernobyl disaster, due to the damage in Fukushima.
