project description aptly named “Project Loon” will be the case for trial use in Canterbury Plains in New Zealand. Over the heads of the people there will be balloons equipped with appropriate radio equipment whose purpose is to provide wireless Internet access.

objectives of the project is adequately described on the official Google blog. There we read that “ believe that it is possible to create districts balloon that lata?by above the Earth in the stratosphere and thus help to provide a network for people below. So far we have managed to build balloons flying above the aircraft and sent transfer speed is similar to the 3G standard, and sometimes even faster. This idea seems to be crazy and so we called it Project Loon (with English fool – wrote the editor) read the Google blog.

Each balloons is composed of three basic elements. First sheet filled with helium, it is also maneuver system, the solar cell power supply and a radio system which provides a network. Second, a special coating, which is filled with air, and thus the company can properly direct the balloon to the area.
The described solution can provide wireless network in the area of ??40 km at the two frequencies 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. That’s why they were chosen because there is not any concession and thus come cheaply.

Why Google such a solution? The answer is simple. Giant live from the network and wants everyone to have access to it. In the mountains, or after a disaster is often no communication. Just then direct the balloon to people once again have access to the network.

Below are two videos showing the intention of the project and its operation.
